Information Assurance And Security Expert: How to Be One?
First, if you want to be one, you need to consider taking a bachelor’s degree. It can be any IT related courses.
Or you can be more specific and take information security or cybersecurity. This will help you set your roots in the security field.
Then, it can be very helpful to get some certifications. You can join IAS or Infosec training or seminars.
Do some research and get the most popular one in the field. Having one will show your passion.
Then, build the needed skills and refine them well. Take note, you need to be able to grasp well the use of data within a company.
It may differ from one to another. If you grasp it well, you can help them in designing and installing the right system. Which may include:

- databases
- applications
Further, you need to be aware of the most recent security and data issues. Keeping up to date with these can help you in solving any problems. Also, you need to make the right disaster recovery plans.
Make sure these can help you well in emergencies. These may mean backing up data or installing security measures.
Also, being an IAS expert does not only mean having IT skills. You also need to be detail-oriented. You also need to be aware of security policies.
